SITUATION: At least four people were reported killed when an earthquake today measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit Indonesia's Sulawesi island and other smaller islands. The earthquake triggered a tsunami, affecting islets around Banggai. Damage was reported in the Sulawesi coastal town of Luwuk, as well as the neighboring islands of Peleng and Banggai, Reuters reported. Most buildings on Banggai -- where the casualties were reported -- had been completely destroyed, eyewitnesses said.
