Hurricane "Keith" and Tropical Storm "Joyce"

This message is not an official hurricane warning or alert for any country

1. The National Weather Center in Miami reports that on 30 September 2000,
at 1500 hours GMT, the center of Hurricane "Keith" was located near
latitude 18.0 north and longitude 86.6 west (about 118 miles/190 km
east-south east of Chetumal (Mexico).

2. Hurricane "Keith" is expected to begin a north-westward drift later
today. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph/130 kmh with
higher gusts.

3. A tropical storm warning/hurricane watch in effect from Belize City
northward to the Mexico/Belize border. Hurricane warning in effect for the
east coast of Yucatan from Cabo Catoche southward to the Mexico/Belize
border. Hurricane watch in effect for north coast of Yucatan from west of
Cabo Catoche to Progreso.

4. The National Weather Centre in Miami reports that on 30 September 2000,
at 1500 hours GMT, the center of Tropical Storm "Joyce" was located near
latitude 10.4 north and longitude 56.1 west (about 330 miles/535 km east
of Trinidad).

5. Tropical Storm "Joyce" is moving toward the west at near 18 mph/30 kmh.
On this track, the center will move across the Southern Windward Islands
tomorrow (1 October 2000). Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph/65 kmh
with higher gusts.

6. Tropical storm warning in effect for Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada. A
tropical storm watch is in effect for Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Vincent
and the Grenadines.
