Mexico - Tropical Depression Juliette

This message is not an official warning or alert for any country
1. Juliette has been downgraded to a tropical depression and all tropical
storm warnings have been discontinued for the Baja California peninsula.
2. The National Weather Center in Miami reports that at 1500 GMT, 30
September 2001, the center of tropical depression Juliette was located
near latitude 25.6 north, longitude 112.0 west, or about 120 miles (195
km) south of Santa Rosalia on the east coast of the central Baja
California peninsula. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/hr)
with higher gusts.
3. The tropical depression is moving toward the north at near 6 mph (9
km/hr) and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24
hours. Additional rainfall is expected today and tonight primarily over
northwestern mainland Mexico. There continues to be a threat of flash
floods and mud slides near mountainous terrain.
