Tropical Storm Jerry - The Caribbean
7 October 2001


This message is not an official hurricane warning or alert for any
country.

1.  The National Weather Center in Miami reports that at 1500 GMT, 7
October 2001, the center of Tropical Storm Jerry was located near latitude
11.7 north, longitude 58.3 west or about 125 miles (200 km) southeast of
Barbados, or about 155 miles (250 Km) east-northeast of Tobago. Maximum
sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/hr) with higher gusts.

2.  Jerry is moving toward the west near 20 mph or 32 km/hr.

3.  At 1500 GMT, the following warnings/watches were in effect:

4.  Tropical Storm Warning: remains in effect for Barbados.

5.  Tropical Storm Watch: remains in effect for St. Vincent and the
Grenadine Islands, Tobago, Grenada, and the Federal Dependencies
(Venezuela).
