Chile - Floods

Situation

1.  According to the report issued by the National Emergency Office
(ONEMI) on 27 May, heavy rains fell over the weekend in the central and
southern Chile, affecting 3,655 people as indicated below:

2.  Some 2,880 people are isolated in the III, IV and V Regions.


National Response

3.  ONEMI continues with the dispatch of rescue teams in the affected
areas. The Civil Protection System keeps the Emergency Operation
Committees activated, attending the affected population.

4.  The Government of Chile has not requested international assistance.
