OCHA Situation Report No. 1 Tropical Storm Lili - The Caribbean 24 September 2002

This message is not an official hurricane warning or alert for any country. 1. The National Weather Center in Miami reports that at 15:00 GMT today, the center of Tropical Storm Lili was located near latitude 13.2 north, longitude 65.6 west or about 455 miles/735 km southeast of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph/110kmh with higher gusts. 2. At 1500 GMT, the following warnings/watches were in effect: 3. Tropical Storm Watch in effect along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic from Punta Palenque, located southwest of Santo Domingo, to the border with Haiti. 4.
